Hendrik Vandekerckhove studied law at KU Leuven University for five years. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in 2012. In 2014, during the second year of his Master’s, he did a two-months internship at the Office of the Registrar at the International Court of Justice. He finished his master, majoring in International and European Law, in 2014. After concluding his master’s studies, Hendrik started an LLM Public International Law at Utrecht University and in the summer of 2015, Hendrik was also accepted to attend the session Public International Law at the The Hague Academy of International Law.


At the Leuven Centre for Global Governance, Hendrik is currently working on a project, called “Jus in Bellgium”, dealing with questions regarding international criminal justice and the role of national – especially Belgian – courts.
